What is an Electrical Busway

It consists of metal plate (steel plate or aluminum plate) as protective shell, conductive bar, insulating material and relevant accessories. Key features of our electrical busway are: High rated current up to 7500A ; High conductivity & overload capacity, depends on the operating temperature of the insulating material used, up to 140 ℃. It used air to conduct heat dissipation, and emits heat through the closely contacted metal shell, so its heat dissipation performance is much better than that of cable; Compact design to save your space considerably; Easy & quick installation and free maintenance cost.

What is the difference between an electrical busway and an electrical duct

Bus Duct
Electrical Busway

To be simple, an electrical bus duct is used to house and protect aluminum or copper bus, while an electrical busway is an insulated aluminum or copper bus and used to connect secondary side of a distribution transformer and LV panels, and used to connect some other electrical equipments. Due to its high current carrying capacity and good heat dissipation, it replaces some cable buses, thereby reducing the time and cost of making cable joints, and also improving the stability and safety of the entire distribution system;it is widely used in some large factories, high-rise buildings, and data centers.

What is difference between electrical busway and cable tray & raceway

An electrical busway used copper bar and aluminum bar as the conductive medium. It is easy to install, disassemble, maintain and adapt to the environment. The cable tray & raceway can be installed either in the open or in the dark. Generally, it is made of cold and hot rolled plates, stainless steel, glass fiber reinforced plastic, PVC, aluminum alloy and other materials, and its surface is subject to anti-corrosion treatment such as painting and electroplating. There are trough type cable tray, tray type cable tray, ladder type cable tray, combined cable tray, long-span cable tray, new bolt free cable tray, etc. The cable tray can also be understood as the cable trench laid in the air, which serves as the fixed support and protection support for the cable routing in the air.

Cable tray & raceway is used to lay power cables and control cables, and electrical busway is used to lay conductors; the turning radius of a cable tray & raceway is relatively large, while radius of an electrical busway is relatively small.

What are the different types of electrical busways?

Normally, it has three main types of electrical busway. they are Compact electrical busway, Plug-in electrical busway and air insulated electrical busway.

Compact electrical busway

it has large current carrying capacity, good dynamic and thermal stability, small size, good heat dissipation, low temperature rise, and is suitable for the transmission of high-power current. It is divided into three-phase four wire system and three-phase five wire system.

Rated voltage level: up to 690V,

Rated current: 250~6300A

 Plug-in electrical busway

Conventional busway, equipped with plug interface to split current flow.

Equipped with air circuit breaker to protect overload & short circuit.

100A, 200A, 400A, 630A on your request.

Air Insulated busway

when the current is 100A or below, the air type busway should be selected.
