Types of hardware for OPGW cable

Hardware for OPGW cable is used to install & fix an OPGW cable on electrical towers or poles.

it mainly has single or double tension clamp, single or double suspension clamp, vobration damper, joint enclosure, and down-lead clamp etc.

The suspension clamp is made of cast steel and hot-dip galvanized or aluminum alloy. The upper end has two earrings that are threaded through the earring holes with bolts. The clamp has a black long sleeve made of chloroprene rubber, which extends outward beyond the clamp. The inner diameter of the sleeve matches the diameter of the OPGW used, and the OPGW can be placed into the sleeve from the opening. Each suspension clamp is equipped with several sets of inner and outer twisted wire protective rods made of multiple aluminum alloy wires.

Dead-end or tension clamp

The tension clamp mainly consists of pre-twisted wire protective rods, pre-twisted wire tension clamps, embedded rings (heart-shaped rings), sag adjustment plates (tension plates), and U-rings. it consists of multiple aluminum clad steel wires arranged side by side in a sheet shape and folded 180 ° from the middle to form a semicircle in the middle, which can be easily inserted into the embedded ring connected to it. The two folded wire rows have been pre made into a spiral shape and can be easily wrapped on OPGW by hand. The inner side of the spiral wire row is coated with a layer of hard particles such as diamond sand, which looks like a surface of fine sandpaper.  It is used to increase the friction grip between the pre-twisted wire and OPGW.

It is a multi frequency tuning tech, usually made of aluminum alloy cast with stranded wire;

The advantages of this type of damper are:

(1) The weight of the two hammer heads is unequal, and the length of the steel sling on both sides is also unequal, which can obtain 4 resonance frequencies;

(2) The middle of the hammer head is slotted in a tuning fork shape, and the connection between the steel sling and the hammer head is exposed, allowing for observation of the steel sling the condition of cable fatigue damage, without limiting the swinging of the hammer head;

(3) The shape of the hammer head and wire clip is streamlined, without any edges or corners, and they are beautiful, elegant, and novel;

During installation, wrap the outer layer of OPGW with pre twisted wire protective rods, and then tighten the ancient bolts with a torque of approximately4kg-M; if there is any damage to OPGW,placing the heavy hammer head on the side near the wire clamp is beneficial for eliminating vibration.
