What is the difference between a UL 891 switchbboard and a UL 67 panel board
Both items are used in an electrical distribution systems but it has some difference in terms of ,
1. rated current capacity, according to UL 67 standard, it is normally less than 1,200 Amperes for a panel board, but for a switchboard, it is normally over 1,200 and less than 6,300 amperes, in accordance with UL 891 standard.
2. Method of accessing, for a UL 67 panel board, it is a front access for an easy operation & maintenance work, while for a UL 891 switchboard, it is allowed to have a rear access,with the considerations of safety and space limitation.
And their dimensions, for a UL 891 switchboard, it is used some heavy-duty areas or applications, which need to be equipped with some more electrical equipment, so the size of a switchboard is comparetively larger than a UL 67 panel board.
